Ok I decided to loose the stereo in favor of a switch panel.....Because my lumpy 383 w/flowmaster 40's sort of defeats the purpose of a stereo I have decided to go the other direction.....So Here is my first attempt at Fab.......1/16" stainless panel, I cut out a section and used a center punch to line up the holes....I am using the new Blue LEDs for indicators and toggle switches with off/on labels.........So far the switches will be: Fan, Ign, Fuel, Nitrous enable, and #5 is open........Only the fan will be hooked up for starters but is will give me room to grow
Here is an update on my switch panel. Took some time to get it right but I think it looks pretty decent. All of the LED's are supposed to be blue, but somehow one of them is orange---(strange because if you know anything about LEDs, blue LEDs are clear when they are off, where red/yellow/orange/green are their colors when off!! This mystery LED is clear when off, but bright orange when on??? And it came in a blue LED package?) I don't have the wiring complete, but I will update some pics when everything is lit......Let me know what you think!!!!
It looks nice but I'd paint it with black wrinkle paint. I also fabbed a radio delete plate and painted it with the wrinkle paint and it seems like it came from the factory. But I still think yours looks nice. If you could find black switches I think it'd blend in better but this way it looks more "race car'ish".
The switches used look added as for a race car, where if you wanted to try to look more "stock" you might go to black switches. I think its all a matter of taste, and looks good anyway. Nice fab work!
