I like Firestone Firehawks, good performance stats, good wet handling (mines a daily driver), wear like stone and are priced reasonably. Check Tire Rack.com good site to do comparison shopping. KEEP DRIVING !!!
If you're checking TireRack, look at the Yokohama Avid ST. Compare them to the more expensive Goodyears and others and you'll be quite surprised! They outperform the Radial T/A in every consumer category.

Only my rear two BFG's need replacing (no idea why ), but I am thinking of springing for 4 new Yoko's.

I found Discount Tire to have the best deal, paid only $360 for four BFGs (255 and 275) incl. mounting, balancing and road hazard.... and they had the tires in the store, I didn't have to wait....
Except that they are only available in crappy S-rated form. They are fine for a commuter car, but are a mismatch for a Corvette. Why have one of Zora's finest only to hamstring it with low grade tires?
These are the only v-rated street tires that I am aware of that will fit C3's -

I have a set of those Firehawk Indy 500's in the original size and they are very nice. The white letters just look right on a stock C3. The Firestone dealer made a good offer including mounting and balancing but you need to let them know you are shopping for a best price. They seem to go on a "buy 3, get 4th one free" deal frequently but you need to ask for it, preferably by phone.
My 82 is running BFG T/A 265/50-15 tires. And I need replacements. But I could not find anything in that size. Does anyone know of anywhere that I can buy a performance radial in that size?

I went with the Pirelli Scorpion Zero in 255-60-15.
I went autoXing this saturday, the first 2 runs they were slick, but I only had about 200 miles on them, the other 2 runs felt better and better. I was able to control any slides I had.
They look a little truck like on the shoulder, but I'm willing to live with it for the performance I am getting out of them...
