Default Pilot Bearing Install

The pilot bearing I have seems to be too big. Are theseone size fits all? I purchased it from Zip....wondered if freezing it an dheating the end of the crank would help.

Saw that no one has replied to your question yet. Didn't get much info from your profile and I'm no means an expert but your ride's motor is a Chevy and the correct pilot bearing should'nt be a problem to find. Take the one you got from Zip and go down to any local parts store and see what they have. I'm thinking Zip send you the incorrect part. Your pilot bearing should be a snug fit but I don't think you need to have go to an extreme to get it to fit.

No, it should not require heating/freezing to get it in. That bearing should be a common one. Go to your local parts store with your bearing as a sample. Let them measure it accurately and see if they have a smaller size. You should have the correct one. But perhaps Your parts person can figure out how to solve your problem.

I bought two from Jegs or summit, they both fit. Don't think there was a difference in SB & BB.
