Default Torque setting for valve cover bolts ?

Just installed new edelbrock chromed valve covers with felpro rubber gaskets. Does anyone know what the correct torque amounts for the screws would be ? Thanx Brent

Not a whole lot at all. That's why you see some guys use the wing-type bolts. Hand tight, just enough. You'll know if they're loose.

one half of one "grunt-pound".

You want it tight enough to seal but not tight enough to snap the bolts. when you feel the gasket compressing, you are there so only go a quarter turn or so farther. Check them all again after a few miles.

Are you sure it's only 2 snugs to a grunt. I was thinking it was more like 7 snugs to a grunt. Unless you meant a groan which I believe comes after a grunt. I mean, if you have already snugged the bolts then go back over to snug them again is it a grunt or a groan?
