Default 81e or L81?

Dammit. I thought I was out of the early/late loop and didn't have to worry about it.

I'm ordering a new set of shifter side boards from Wilcox and their scale runs to 78-81e and L81-84 and I don't know which I have. I didn't even know there was a distinction between 81 models. And honestly, I can't see where it'd make that much difference. They all use the same shifter and e-brake consoles. Weird.

Where's the cut off point in the production dates? Or better yet, where's the cut off point in the VIN?

Anyone?

I guess it must depend if it's a Bowling Green car or not, I never knew there was any difference

We neither. My car was originally a two-tone car, which I believe automatically makes it a Bowling Green car.

I made some side boards from material I found at Home-Depot...

Just a bit thicker and more sturdy.

What number are you ? I'm pretty late in the year 8355.

Any pictures of your sideboards?

Mine looks to be a bit earlier than with 5281. My boards are pretty trashed out. They're broken in several places, and Bubba glued new carpet on to of the old carpet. I don't have them pulled out of the car right now. This is the only pic I can find, it's from when I first got the car. You really can't see much. Please ignore the steering cover It's long gone.
