Default Correct Temp Sensor Part Number 1970

I have a 1970 350CI 300HP Block.

Temp gauge is the white lettered 250 degree.

What is the correct part number for a replacement temp sensor?
(I want that will read correctly)

Where can you get them?

I called up Clocks by Roger and they don't sell them for 70s right now due to a calibration problem?

Thanks,

Pete

Pete, don't know if they have a website or not, but you should be able to look up "Lectric Limited" as they are now "correctly reproducing" the original style temperature sensors.

I also have a 350 300 Hp 70 cpe. I believe the correct temp guage and all guages are green lettered for 68-71. 72-73 are white to 250 and 74 + are white to 280.

I purchased a sensor from Lectric Limited and it seems to work correctly although I haven't had it checked for accuracy.

1970 should have a green face gauge.

Don't use the one refered to on this forum as "The Volvo temp sensor". I have it in my car and it reads 20* high. I believe the Lectric Limited one is just about the only one that will read correctly.

Do u mean Rodger Scott at Corvette Instrument Service? I was about to email him for the correct sensor for my '74.
PepBoys sold me a temp switch which has either open or shorted resistance - but i need a thermistor to drive my temp gauge. My old sensor has a blade connector and reads 'bout 700ohms @ 70*F. NAPA has a sensor but with a button electrical connector and reads 'bout 650ohms @ 70*F. I looked at my wiring diagram and it shows a green wire for temp switch. Looked at my brand new engine harness and the temp wire (under the woven insulation sleeve) was green with a blade type connector. I can replace the connector but still the sensor resistance doesn't match. I guess i will run the 30 yr old original to see what it reads untill i can get the correct replacement for my temp gauge. Did Rodger address this? Does Lectric Limited have a blade connector on thier sensor? cardo0
