Default Spring Question

I put a new steel spring on my 79 almost two years ago and it made it sit a little high. I kept thinking it would come down some but it has not yet. Passenger side 28 3/4 from floor to fender and driver side 29 1/4. I even put the longer bolts (8 inch) on it and didnt make any difference. I have the nuts up as far as they willl go. Any suggestions ?

Bring the nuts down on the 8 bolts to lower it. Might have to go to the end,but leave a couple of thread showing. Aftermarket springs are just plain bad quality.

Yes, the nuts go down, instead of up. Before I got educated on the Forum, I assumed that if I raised the ends of the spring (nuts up), then the center and the body, would go down. Not so.

Like others have said, lower the nuts.
One way to look at it: by tightening the nut you are compressing the spring, loosening the nuts will relax the spring.
