Took the 82 into my shop to get the pass window fixed. The first motor he got had a broken mount like someone dropped it while it was in the box.Motor #2 only worked in one direction.#3 worked until I got the car home and it worked about 4 times. So now mon. it's back to the shop.I think I'll tell them to get me a new motor,no more rebuilt units. This has me so pi##ed off.Everything is junk nowdays, theres no more pride in what people do.
Bummer... Where is he getting these crappy rebuilt motors from? I don't know about how other people fix stuff but after I fix something I do this crazy thing called 'test it out' to make sure it works...
Finally had a serious problem with one of the windows. Had to rewire and replace crappy switches and "Scotty" operate the windows enough times....but finally the passenger window went "byebye."
After learning the hard way how the silly mechanisms work, I lloked carefully at the regulator gear and such and thought only the motor was bad. So I got a rebuild from MidAmerica (I believe) and put it in.
Worked fine a couple of times then....clickclickclickclick....no movement going down, but fine going up. I'm not entirely sure it's the motor, but suspect it. I may have to have my vette shop look at it to see if it really is this or if I have to bite the bullet and change the regulator or even get a whole new mechanism.
