I'm finishing up my motor swap and I'm about to install my Powermaster 1-wire alternator. I've run into a couple of problems though.
1) Where the alternator bolts to the bracket, is there supposed to be a "spacer" that goes over the bolt, between the two "arms" of the bracket?
2) I can't get the upper arm to fit properly. If I'm correct the arm must bolt to the water pump at the bottom and to the alternator on top for adjustment. My stock arm won't fit on my Edelbrock water pump, the base of it is too wide and won't fit in the bolt hole location on the water pump. Any ideas or am I missing something?
3) It's a 1-wire style alternator, so I think I have to run the 1 wire that comes with the alternator straight to the battery if I remember correctly. Anyone know how they are supposed to be hooked up?
4) What should I do with the stock wiring?
That site was very informative. I think after reading it I'll use the 3 wire hookup. The Powermaster alternator I have is suppossed to be capable of 1 or 3 wire hookup.

Use the 3 wire hookup, the connector should plug right in.
Yes, there's a spacer.
You may have to bend the arm and/or grind away material around the bolt hole. I think it goes on the top water pump bolt, not the bottom.
If you get a higher amp alternator, increase the + output wire size. Do not wire to the starter. Wire it to the distribution point, the horn relay on the drivers side wheel well.

I've been trying to mount it to the top bolt on the water pump, it lines up with the alternator, just won't fit onto the pump, I think if I grind the edges a bit, it'll go in. I'll also increase the positive wire size to the relay.
Anyone know where I can get the spacer? I've tried several corvette parts suppliers and can't seem to find it
