1973 coupe has new pads all around. Problem is, after pushing hard on the brake pedal, then trying to turn the front wheels by hand,( up in the air) they Both are very hard to turn. If I crack open only the Right Bleeder BOTH wheels turn freely ! what is it thats Not Releasing the Pressure on Both Wheels??? Thanks
Ive been having numerous front brake problems both sticking and leaking I replaced both front calipers and both front brake hoses and my problem went away
Sounds like you have a caliper piston hanging up. That's bad, Mkay.
Now that I re-read your post, I'm wondering if the Master cylinder is defective. I'd start cracking the fittings one at a time, starting at the master cylinder and working my way down stream. If the brakes release when the M/C fitting is cracked, your residual pressure is in the M/C. If it's downstream, well, you'll fnd it as you progress.

Replace the hoses between the break line and calipers - it seems that they act like a check valve (old hoses do that when they fall apart inside)
If the problem is the hose, here's what happens: you push the brake pedal, you pressurize the lines, hoses and calipers and you get little flow of fluid in the caliper to push the pads against the rotor. Now you release the pedal and the rotors (runout) are pushing the pistons back, this doesn't work if a collapsed hose does not allow flow..
I don't believe you need new calipers, if they don't leak they're fine....
I suspected the hoses, but if BOTH wheels are locking up, & I release pressure from only ONE caliper, if it was both hoses, the OTHER caliper would not release untill I opened THAT Bleeder ALSO. NO?

You're correct, if it was both hoses you would have to release pressure from both calipers....
