Default Need a new battery What is everyone running ??

I checked Autozone's online catalog. Looks like a couple of different size options are listed for 1977. What will fit in the car? I am still using the factory side terminal option. Duralast? Diehard? Wal Mart ?

I found a "blem" Optima (yellow) on E-Stink for $85. Battery is totally sealed, so no leakage issues. Starts the car every time (err...except the time my starter went bad, but it took a long time to kill it).

i wouldn't try the walmart batteries; i bought one and it wouldn't do jack; died in almost no time. now running a red top optima, and have been very pleased . . . it's worth the money not to have to push-start the car . . .

I like sears Diehard. Have them in everything but the Vette. That has an Energizer, and it has never let me down. It held its charge all winter, too.

I went Optima since it's sealed. In my small town, batteries with vent nipples are special-order and cost just as much as an Optima.

Only use Optima Red Top. Very dependable, no acid leaks.

Interstate Battery--my 'vette goes places--however, if you only use your 'vette occasionally, then Optima hands down.

Optima. No vent holes so no build-up of explosive hydrogen gas in the battery compartment. I can't figure out a way to make the original vented caps with the hose work on any newer battery.

I'm running a Canadian Tire battery. Guaranteed for as long as you own the car. 1000 cold cranking amps (actually made by Delco...shhhhh)
