starter solenoid?
i found my positive cable shorted to my exhaust... but b4 i found it i tried to jump it a couple times. now that i've fixed the problem, when i tried to jump it all i got was click click....is my solenoid fried and how do i check it....

If the car sits for a while (like mine) sometimes the solenoid sticks and won't push the bendix gear out. Tap on it with a hammer a few times to se if you can loosen it up, or wail on it with a dead blow. It also could be that you need to let the battery charge for a couple of hours or the terminals are dirty. Check these before replacing the soleniod.
