What's the deal with the Holley electric chokes? Mine works well...too well... 15-20 minutes after cutting the car off, the choke is full on again at startup. I've heard of guys having this problem at dragstrips while waiting to stage. Any fixes available?
What Holley do you have? I have a new 670cfm "Street Avenger" and had the same problem....I just adjusted the choke adjustment cap counter clockwise 2 notches and it worked fine. I also adjusted the fast idle screw...just a tad.

I had the same problem with mine. Every time I started my car in the staging lanes the choke would be on for a minute or two. I finally just took it off. Takes about 1 minute before mine will idle on its own. Little more trouble when starting cold but I can live with that.
I thought the vacuum line from the choke to the manifold was intended to set the choke on open. You want to release the choke you quickly open the throttle at idle (a sudden burst to 2,000 RPM will do it), vacuum drops and resets some dohickey in the choke and it sets the choke open, or at least I thought that's how it works.
"Many Holleys come with electric chokes. I don't like them. This is due to the fact that they cool down faster than necessary when you shut the engine down."
