Upgrading to HEI
It's finally time to upgrade to an HEI dist. I have a 74 w/mech tach w/Unilite. What year model should I look for? What upgrades are needed? I want to be all in by 2800, special spring of module? Any thing else I should know? What about the elect tach, how does that work?
I'm getting my rewiring job redone by the people I wanted to go to in the first place. They like MSD but I can't see it. It's unlikely that my engine will see 5K very often. TIA

so you are thinking of getting a used HEI unit and installing a high performance kit in it? i built my existing HEI and used the proform kit from summit....admittedly this was the least expensive kit out there....it came with new weights 3 sets of springs, high voltage coil and a new control module, new cap and rotor for about 75 clams
