Most are held on with 2 side tape. Look for 3M trim / emblem tape at a a paint and body supply store. Another method is to use 3M weatherstrip adhesive. Problem is that it can be runny and may spread out further than you want it to and is very nasty to deal with.
The 3M double sided tape works really well, but it's also about 35 bucks for a roll (enough to do dozens of emblems). Maybe a local bodyshop might sell you enough for your emblem. The tricky part is trimming it to all the curves of the stingray emblem. It requires a lot of patience, I borrowed a scalpel from the surgeon who lives across the street. The stuff is gooey and not easy to trim.
I use "Goop"....(the automotive variety in the tube)....yes, it's gooey to work with but dries hard and strong so be sure to clean the excess before it dries...
I used Gorilla Glue from Home Depot or Lowe's (can't remember) but it worked great and says on the box good for metal, fiberglass, glass, plastic, etc. I lost mine on the road I guess it was just missing when I washed the car so I don't know how long it was missing.
I just took mine off my 1973 and detailed them out (about 33 years of wax build up) cleaned off all the original backing, not a lot left, and reinstalled them with speed nuts 3 on the right side and 2 on the left side, nice clean look just be sure to thread the nuts on prior to installing them, this wiil create small threads on the emblem post, and ease of installation when installing, just dont overtighten.
if you want some real good 3M double sided tape. find your local R/C hobby shop. get a nice little roll for $5 to $6. aut to be enuff to do all the emblems on the car.

I have some 3M double sided tape. Not sure if it's the emblem kind or not, but it doesn't seem sticky enough to hold the emblem on there permenantly. Are there various kinds with stronger adhesives? The one I procured is from work, so it's for hanging signs and such.
3M is a decent company but double sided tape won't hold jach tschidt...not very long anyway....
the suggesion of RTV, or silicone sealant is very good....
it's primarily made by GE, but sometimes other companies are available also.....GE is in the HD chain for sure....
you want some color that blends in to simplify install...
I have a mid-60's red white blue 'Fuel Injection' tag on the rear of my shark for about ten years now...glued with this stuff and never even the slightest hint of being loose....

I did the same thing. Not only don't you have to worry about the glue or them falling off you can now take them off anytime you want for waxing or cleaning. I got a whole bag of these speed nuts at NAPA.
