Default Cutting plug wires to length...

I need to make a custom set to fit in my Billet Specialties wire looms, anybody have any recomendations? I cant really fit anything larger than 8-8.5mm in the looms. I have an MSD Pro Billet distributor. Should I solder the connections? I have never made plug wires, and I dont want to be cruising down the road and lose a cylinder. Anybody got any Summit or Jegs part numbers?

Thanks

Joe

I used that crimper to custom fit a set of Moroso wires on my son'd 75. Worked out pretty good. A universal set will come with long uncrimped wires.

Well i just answered this in another post so i'll just cut and paste.

Once u waste enough money on wires that just don't fit right u'll want to try it. Really simple once u practice a bit with some extra wire and terminals. NAPA sells bulk wire and terminals by the piece if u need extras. Bought my stripper/crimper at NAPA for $30. Just keep practicing with one wire for crimp fit into cap with a snap and not pull terminal off when u pull the wire back out. Keep trying and u'll get it right. Look at how ur old wires are made up at the terminal. Stripped off insulation then just laid back and terminal metal crimped on top. U only lose when u cut the wire too short so start with ur longest wire 1st and if it gets too short u can use it for a shorter wire.
One trick is the stripper should not cut to the wire but close enough so u can just twist and pull the insulation off without nicking the wire conductor.

Now for ur MSD cap terminals u would need to buy spare terminal connectors from MSD (NAPA might not carry those but u can try). I do know that MSD sells everything separately so contact them for extra.
And no solder Joe. Just crimp connectors. Practice a few times and u'll be a pro.
Hope this helps. cardo0
