Default joe73vette's problem?

Geez! Something's in the air. Fresh rebuilt motor...started great...set timing, ran smooth. Has about 1 hour run time on it. All the sudden, I start getting a slight "pop" out of the right side exhaust...at any rpm. Doesn't idle as smooth. Replaced the wires (7mm Accel) Plugs (Accel), rotor cap and HEI coli (both Accel) Start it up...does the same thing. Pop at about any rpm and rough idle. HELP! I ain't driving it til it purrs...

check valve adjustment? If those puppies are a little too tight they won't shut all the way and cause a missfire.

Don't throw any more parts at it (7mm wires???). Check the valves first.

You might as well pull the valve covers and find the valve with the wiped cam lobe ,start with the exhaust side.

It is possible.

My orginal L48 did the same thing.

Two bad cam lobes.

I hope that's not the case with his motor.
