68 small block, edelbrock rpm, holley vacuum secondary, choke removed, no egr. 34 total advance with lighter advance springs, ported vacuum advance.
Just replaced the intake and added 1" 4 hole plastic spacer. Carb is recent rebuild.
Had it running great til sunday. Still has great top end, but now idle (700rpm) rpm will slowly drop off til it dies. Difficult to restart, have to floor the throttle when cranking, it usually backfire through carb then. I can keep it running if I throttle it.
I haven't even checked anything yet.
Doesnt sound like fuel starvation (good top end).
Spark is ok.
Vacuum leak?
Other thoughts?

Back your idle mixture screws out a little bit. If this helps you may need to open up the idle restriction a little. What sort of cam does this motor have?
