Default Shock mount not all the way in

Is there any trick to getting the shock mount all the way in, its still about an 1/8" from the bearing support. I thought it would pull the rest of the way in when torqued, but it just wont pull through, I dont want to break the bolt by torquing too much.

Thanks

The knurled shoulder must be hanging up on the hole.
I would try a few good taps with a hammer - should do it.
If not, pull it out and examine. Maybe you need to take a file
and cut the knurls down a few mils.

I know how you feel. I was very fearful that I was going to strip the mount but I had to just keep on turning until it was fully seated. I was REAL slow and careful though. Once seated, I torqued it to spec.

I tried tapping with a hammer, but I was afraid I was going to bend or screw up the mount.

I love that BFH answer , Im just always scared something is going to break. I was smacking the back of the mount and it seemed like it was getting a flat spot.

I had to go buy a B'erFH. I also took a tapered grinding stone and opened up the hole on the bearing support "just a little"

Make sure the flat spot on the shock supt shaft is aligned with the flat spot on the inside of the bearing supt arm hole.

Got em in all the way last nite. BFH -tighten nut -BFH - tighten nut.

Thanks for the input, and letting me know smacking that mount would cause no harm.
