Aside from the part number, what is the difference between a front and rear brake rotor. They look almost the same. what would happen if I put a rear in front and a front on the rear?
(for those asking why would he do this, i will tell you. SIX MONTHS!!! thats right, six months i have owned this car and i have not driven it an inch. it needs brakes. the master cyl. is bad, i will r&r. i bought stainless braided hoses, stainless rear caliper lines, r&r emergency brake springs with ss. the rear rotors can be cut for $8 a piece. However, the front cant be cut. i would love to put the cut rear ones up front for a while and clean up the front ones and put them in back just to get me around the block. i am on a tight budget now but need to roll in this thing.)

this means that the part of the rotor that has the holes in it is thicker on the rears then the fronts so the rotors are more offset and they will not work
I agree. I thought I read this on the Forum that the rear rotors are a different size to accomodate the parking brakes, and that the front and rear are not interchangeable.
not to offend, but if i were you , i would read the post before i replied. how would i know the rotor was bad if i didnt already have it off. and yes, you did offend me but that didnt stop you. i asked a simple question and got the answer on the first reply or two. THAT WAS MY RESEARCH!!!
