This thread will get a lot of attention. Amsoil is a very good oil, I use it in every thing I own and the main reason for that is I don’t like having to buy 3 or 4 different types of oil. There is a supporting vendor on the forum that sells Amsoil if you need some were to buy it.
A good question that has been asked a ZILLION times on the whole Corvette Forum. Type synthetic oil in the search section and spend the next 3 months reading the feedback.
I use it in my 2 daily drivers, engine and transmissions. My 97 dodge Caravan has 140,000 miles on the origional transmission. That's unheard of...
I also do a oil analysis every 6 months and only change the oil when they tell me to. It's very interesting to be able to see the accumulation of wear metals and the degradation of the oil over time. Changing this oil at 3000 miles is a complete waste. I get 10,000 miles easy
i dont like to use synthetic in my race car. i might be good but the first time i used i blew up a motor so im sticking to regular. ams oil is good oil though.
