The first switch position on my 80 Corvette wiper switch does nothing. This is the intermittent speed position. I have the second position (slow) and third position (high) but no intermittent speed. Turning the swith clock wise or counter clockwise to change speed does nothing. I've been advised that there is a control box located in my jack box and I've found it but can't see how to remove it. I've jiggled the connections but nothing happens. Any ideas?
I had the same problem no intermittent and no washers but low and high speed wipers. I tried to repair the module located behind the passenger’s seat but was unsuccessful. I finally purchased a used one from J&D Corvette in Bellflower CA. 9833 Alondra Blvd, Bellflower, Ca (800) 838-8353. I had looked for months for a new replacement but they are a discontinued item. I have read that some forum members had found new old stock but the prices were like $300 range. I would have paid that for a new one but could not find one. The used one I bought took care of the problem.
I can probably get a used one at a Corvette junk yard called Contemporay in Bristol, Pa. (Philly). How is the module removed? Any tricks on replacing it?
Just unplug it and unscrew it. Mine was at one time silacone sealed on so I just pried it off but the replacement I screwed in place. If you buy one that is on the shielf make sure it is the same as yours. My 81 had one wire conection but there are some older models that have two conectors. I don't know which the 80 has but if you take yours out to show the shop they should be able to get you one that will fit.
