Strut rod question
Not sure why strut rods seem to be the cornerstone topic this week but here's another.
Just ordered one strut rod, bushings and bushing caps from Corvette Central. I received a phone message later from CC asking if I knew the rod already came with bushings (I didn't) anyway now I have 1 strut rod, 4 bushings, and 4 caps on the way so I thought why not pull both rods out, ****can the bent one, and reinstall both with new bushings since I ordered too many bushings Well I'm short rod caps for the left side.
Q1. Can I resue the bushing caps if there in good shape?
Q2. can I press the strut rod bushings and caps using my garage vise or do I need to take it to a professional with a Hydraulic press.
