Default Do you think this is a good location?

I have decided to mount my MSD box under the passenger seat. The interior is completly gutted and I notice there is enough room for the seat to slide properly. The side exhaust should not get it hot but does the box itself get hot?

i have a Digital 6 Plus. mounted mine on the drivers side kick panel just under the emergency brake. i'd say the box gets "warm" but not hot. MSD says o.k. to mount under hood at least six inches away from exhaust and i know people who have done it. i just didn't like the idea of "soaking" the box with all that underhood heat. MSD says to mount where air can circulate around it. they recommend "NOT" to mount it in the glove box for that reason. if you've got the room, i don't see why under the seat wouldn't be o.k. be ready for some "buzzing" though. they tend to make some noise.

That sounds like an awfully small space to me. What if you need to access it, it won't be easy to get to there. I wouldn't put it there. Do you have long enough wires to put it in the jack storage compartment?

Since I only drive in the nice weather I removed my heater to reduce weight and it gave me a place to mount 4 devices including my MSD 6AL.

Mine's mounted to the inner fender just above the gills. Lot's air circulation and easy to access.
