UA Smog pump
I posted a thread about a smog pump 78 SA 350 L48. I really need the "PRO's" on this to see if they can provide me the info. Prior to our most recent club (COTV) Mystery ride we always look at each others rides. A owner of a 78 SA and club member looked at my engine and noticed no smog pump and other smog equipment. My delema is how do I for sure tell if my vette was in fact factory equiped with the smog equipment. Any help or guidance will be helpful. I bought the vette 14 Jan 05 and was smogged 9 Jan 05.

1978 L48s were not equipped with air injection reactor (A.I.R.) or smog pumps unless they were 4 speed units, or bound for either California or high altitude locations. You can verify by identifying the two letter code on your emission certification sticker (power brake booster)...it will reference those emission control devices installed on the vehicle from the factory. Let me know what you find.
