Pwr window works went it wants to. Thought it might be the switch, but noticed that the amps are drawn down when I hit the switch, and a slight click sound coming from motor, but no go. I took it out and hooked it up to shop batt and it works fine both directions, put it back in car, works fine, then today, doesn't work. I'm assuming if it was a grounding problem that their would be no amp draw or sound coming from the motor. Time to replace the motor?
I had problems with my pwr windows too; ended up replacing the plastic guide wheels, cleaning and lubing everything else. The old grease will harden up on you and cause a lot of drag. In my case(75), all the current goes through the switch in the console; and I had to clean those contacts too. I think I may have some missing, or broken ground wires too; but it works pretty good now.

I forgot probably the biggest drag on window operation. Replace the track inserts that the window rides in at the front and back. When you "looze the fuzz" it rattles and drags more. I would do this and the other things regardless of whether the motor is bad or not. Alittle silicone spray in the tracks wouldn't hurt either.
