Default Found torque specs for front end

In my Assembly manual, for 1976:

Upper BJoints 40-60 Foot Pounds
Lower BJoints 70-90 Foot Pounds

Lower Control arm Bush 45-55 Foot Pounds
Upper bushings no spec shown but probably same as lower

If you replaced the spring, don't torque the CA bushing bolts until you have weight on the front end.

Yea they could very well be smaller - I was just guessing I didn't look yet. RE the grease fitting - no not yet darn it. I tried again three times and no joy.

I did get the fitting in far enough to put grease in the joint -WHOPEEE but when I took the grease gun off the fitting, it came right out.

I was going to look at the AIM last night, but it was out in the garage and it was 1AM and the Chilton was on the computer desk. The spec's and installation instructions should come with the kit. I could see if your buying just one ball joint from the local parts store, but I expect buying from 'our' vendors they would include all necessary information: to assemble the part(s) correctly, hints, tips, etc.

Well the control arms from VanSteel were complete. Ball Joints rived in already, and busings inplace too, with new control arm shafts. The only thing seperate was the little bag with the rubber dust cap, cotter pin and grease zerk for each ball joint.

Three of the zerks went in just fine but that right upper ball joint just won't take one.

VanSteel DAN are you there?

I had the ways and means here in my home office to find that info. I've got the old 1976 Motor's Manual, I've got a couple of early '80s Chiltons, and of course GOOGLE

Then I remembered that I had the assembly book. I always think of it as nothing more than pictures and rarely look at it for anything of value
