Default Chrome Molding around the Windshield Question

I know this has been discussed before but I can't seem to find the threads using the search function.

How do you take off the chrome moldings around the windshield? Tricks or tips please.
Thanks

I removed my stainless steel trim on my 68 to replace my original
windshield. It had delaminated over the 30 plus years.
First you must remove the side stainless in front of the side glass,
inorder to do this you must remove the weather strip. There will
be screws to remove, and then you need to carefully pull the trim
out once the screws are out. The factory puts a black substance
on the stainless to help seal it to the glass, so it might give a little
resistance. The header trim on top of the windshield may or may
not come off in one piece due to rust in the winshield frame. It is held
in by clips that span across the top frame. Mine was distroyed when
I pulled it off, I had to purchase a new one, and my clips on the wind
shield frame had to be replaced. The clips cannot be replaced unless
you pull the windshield. Its best to have a professtional install a new
windshield as your need a power applicator to put a straight bead of urethane on when installing new glass, and properly prepping to insure the glass doesnt come loose in time. also dont forget the rubber spacer
blocks. A factory shop manual, and a corvette assembly manual would
help.

You could be opening a can of worms, but necessary for a quality resto IMO. The glass shop makes house calls and for $70 mine was removed and installed at a later date. Once your windshield is out you might as well take care of the dash. It is infinately easier to remove the dash with the windshield out. If you have windshield frame rust, and you will, the top molding clip screws will probably be rust fused to the glass frame. That top trim lifts straight up and out, a little at a time of course. Ecklers has new clips, but no screws. A local auto parts store had the right screws. You may need a little JB Weld to hold the new screws in tight. If it were easy, somebody would have already done it.
