The wipers on my '70 were working perfectly fine. A few days ago I closed the wiper door and when the first rain drops fell, I opened the door again (manually) but the wipers do not work. Of course I suspected immediately of the limit switch that detects the wiper door, but I checked it with my multimeter and it is working properly. Where do I go now? Is there a fuse I need to check? What voltages should I see in the connector plugs? Is there any way I can short the plug to see if the problem is in the switch itself? The plug has 2 light blue wires together in one of the terminals, a black wire with a white stripe and a dark blue in the other 2. Any idea?
Make sure that you have not inadvertently turn off the wipers with the override switch. The override switch is the one between the headlight and wiper door vacuum override valves under the steering column.

Also, sometimes the gauge console is broken at the top where your switch is located. Try turning on the wipers and moving this broken section. If the wiper switch has lost its ground, when you move the upper broken section, the wipers will try to take off when they get their ground back.
