Okay, so I finished installing my 670 Street Avenger on my 72 L-48 and it runs really nicely...except it idles horribly The fast idle is fine, but its normal idle varies from 1200 to 1900. It seems to come down a little bit the warmer the engine gets, but isn't entirely consistent. It generally tends to come down (i.e. to 1400) when putting it in neutral, letting out the clutch and braking (i.e. at a traffic light) but then often goes back up to 1700-1800 or so once the car actually stops moving. The idle is always consistent at a particular time - it doesn't fluctuate when its just sitting there idling, but at any given time it may idle at 1300 or it may idle at 1900, or anywhere in between. What in the heck is going on? I've backed out the idle screw to the point where I'm sure that's not what is causing the problem, especially since Street Avengers are supposed to come tuned well from the factory. Any advice?

That's what I was thinking...new weird development today: if I blip the throttle while it's idling after it's been in gear (i.e. shift in neutral when slowing down for a stop sign) the idle drops - a little slowly - to about 1300...weird
