Just to confirm; your carb should look like this (except yours doesn't have the electric choke):

A couple links that might help.

HOLLEY CARBURETOR MODEL 4150 / 4160

Rebuild and Adjustment Instructions

HOLLEY CARBURETOR MODEL 4150 / 4160

No it doesn't it is a lot different. it has the gas line hook up on the same side as the choke.1 in the front and 1 in the rear, it has the Holley name on the front and rear gas connections. the adjustment screw on top of the bowl is in the center, it is similar but not the same. remember it's probly an old carb, real old. i haven't been able to find a pic of it anywhere and my digital is out of service or i'd post a pic of it. It has really been screwed up by the previous owner(s). the throttle is connected to the carb rear by a makeshift bracket and when i try WOT it can't because the throttle hits the bracket and won't allow all four barrels to open up. the rear carb hole that the throttle bracket connects to had been stripped out of the manifold and a mickey mouse bolt had been put in there . they must have rethreaded it to a larger size to accommodate the new bolt. i got a lot of fixin to do on this carb and manifold.
thanks for the links

The 3310-2 you have may have been modified. It is supposed to be a model 4160 which has a primary metering block between the front fuel bowl and the main body, and no metering block between the rear float bowl and the main body.... just a metering plate, inside the bowl where you cannot see it.

I know you said the pic is not correct, but here is some more info...
The pic you have is of a 4150... metering blocks between both float bowls and the main body.

3310-1 was a 4150,
3310-2,3,4,5,6 were all 4160's.

The pic also shows center hung floats (bowls) as opposed to side hung floats.

Also... some float bowls have the casting for a fuel inlet connection, but are not machined or threaded. So although it may look like it has fuel connections at both bowls, only one is functional.

Lots of variables here... and Holleys claim to fame is its "modularity".... lots of parts to mix & match.

We'll all be like the blind men and the elephant though unless we see a pic.

Need to fix that digital camera... yeh.

Tom

Tom
right you are, the guy that had this car, or someone must have though he was a mechanical genius. Boy are things on this car messed up . it has 2 fuel connections on front and rear, only the 2 on pass. side are machined for threads. probly will opt for a new carb if i can get one that's road ready out of the box.
any suggestions would be appreciated

Were both inlets plumbed for fuel? i.e.- does it have a dual feed fuel line currently installed?

I can fax you what I have on the 3310-2.... IM me if interested & provide a fax number.
