Default MSD 6AL rev limiter question

[B]Is a rev pill required or can you run without one. What happens if the rev pill shorts our or falls our of the 6AL? Is there a default limit?[B]

i have a digital 6 plus so it doesn't have a "pill", it has dip switches but i "almost" got a 6AL. i believe i investigated the same question. i "think" that if there is no pill then there is no rev limit. check MSD's web site for the "definitive" answer. also, you could pull the pill out and run your engine to check yourself.

i dont think it could ''fall out'' it snaps in ther like a plastic top fuse,,if you dont want that feature ,,,.thats what the 6-a is for.

I have the MSD 6AL and I got the adjustable pot that plugs in instead of the pill and it is easy to set a different cut off point. I have never had a problem with it comming loose. I have run my msd for 14 years without a problem.

If the chip is out, the sky is the limit.
