Default header heat

I know it's VERY vague but anyone know an approximate header heat for normal city driving/highway driving??

I bought some new plug wires today, to try to fix my problem, but the boot from the wires actually make contact w/ the header. the boot is rated at like 550*F Will the boot hold up?

I'de like to know because I'm supposed to be going down to Mankato tomorrow to dyno.

please lemme know as soon as possible!!

Unless they are ceramic boots, I don't know of any that can withstand the temperature of a header tube.

I had a problem with headers too close to plugs on my 1970 Dodge Super Bee. I had 1 7/8 tubes and they put one plug boot VERY close to the header tube. I used a bunch of Accel boots and they didn't melt. But they did suffer heat fatigue where the boot "shriveled" in a small area and allowed the spark to arc against the header. My solution was to wrap the spark plug boot in aluminum foil. This prevented the excessive heat and cured the arc problem 100%. BTW...my pipes glowed RED after a 1/4 mile run at night. Never melted a boot...but they weren't actually touching the header pipe.

Will header wrap solve the problem? I have the same issue and am planning to wrap the primaries.

If the boot is touching the wrap should be ok right?

There's wrap available for spark plug wire for that kind of situation.
