Default How to remove this? (door pull)

So it looks like Bubba had his way with my door pull, and as a result I can't seem to get it out This is a major pain, as I need to replace a clip so the door can be opened from the outside...here is a pic of what's holding the door in - any idea exactly what it is and how to remove it? It was held in the bottom with a cherry rivet that I removed after grinding it away...Any ideas??? I'm desperate here!

I cant really tell from that photo. It looks like the top door pull. The door pull is a plastic covered metal bracket. The bracket end had a 90 degree bend and a hole in the middle for the screw. The top and bottom of the brackets both have screws in it.

Also, the door handle release lever has a set screw in it that allows the door latch to be removed for easier removal of the door panel.

Back to your problem, if you had the door handle riveted on, then it is either riveted to the door panel only, which should not prevent it from coming off, or it was riveted to the door frame, which would mean that it is still gripping it some.

You might have to keep drilling until you have opened the hole up enough to get the entire rivet out. This means that the original hole opening will not fit the normal screw and you will need to find a bigger one to hold the door handle on when you are done.
