Default Help me choose an intake

Hey folks. My 350 build up is progressing nicely. I dropped the motor into the heart of the beast today with as far along as it is. It's basically a long block ready to bolt on the intake and headers.

http://77vette.blogspot.com/

I waited to this point to order my intake so I can make sure I thoroughly understand my part selection as I go along. My setup is a Comp Cams XE268H, Summit SUM-152123 67cc chambered heads, 165cc runners. What would be a good intake selection that still fits under a stock '77 L48 hood? I'm going with headers on this build up and I'm a little unsure if I need to stay EGR or non-EGR, etc. I plan on using my original Q-jet carb until I find a truly compelling reason to change that over.

Edelbrock Performer 2101 is made for the spread bore carb. Fits under stock hood and will keep up with your cam selection and RPM.

I would also look at the Performer Air Gap to see if it would fit. If it did, that would be my choice. If it does not, go with the Performer.

I have the RPM Air-Gap with a BG Mighty Demon and a 1/2" spacer that all fits under my stock '77 hood. I do have a K&N drop base air cleaner with a 3" filter element. The drop base air cleaner is mandatory with this set-up.

The only problem might be if you need an adapter to fit your Q-jet on the manifold. I haven't owned a car with a Q-jet in over 20 years...I forgot what they look like.

another vote for the performer air-gap! Nice manifold, gives dual plane low down yet can still perform quite well at the top end too.

I like the Weiand Stealth, for its rpm range. Page 17 of Summit catalog
