Quick carb change question

I'm going to get a remanufactured q-jet with an electric choke from Summit Racing, soon, for my '81. Do I need to change the distributer, too?

If you are not going to keep the computer controlled carb, then you will need a new distributor aswell. Also remember that the computer controls the lockup on the TH350. You don't really need the lockup on the gearbox and infact I won't be bothering with it, I will be using mine a just a normal TH350 without lockup.

I figured as much. I guess I'll have to order one of those, too.

What exactly makes the dist. different on the '81?

The computer controlled distributor doesn't have the mechanical advance assembly, since the computer can advance the spark by itself.
