Default Body off

Is it possible to raise the rear of the body to address frame rust, I dont really have the space for whole body off.

Sure it is ... in fact, here is a display Corvette where the body was raised off the frame with lengths of pipe acting as spacers between each body mount and additionals on the nose for support

Yeah, you could do something, but it will still be tons of work.
By leaving the #1 bolts in loose - and removing 2,3,4 - you could
pivot the rear up. However, most of the stuff in the nose of the car
will need to be removed ... front bump, brackets, frame extensions, etc.

What year do you have ?

Just be aware that once you get the body lifted off the frame a little you will probably see a bunch of things other than rear frame rust that you won't want to drop the body back onto. You need a plan in the event that you find rusted body mounts, trailing arms, rocker channels, windshield frame, etc. It all depends on how far you want to go with repairs and your level of sanity.

You would have to be very careful raising only the rear that you don't put any stress on the nose of the car. It would probably be much easier to just completely remove the body. PM me if you need help.

I have my 68 body disconnected from the frame (actually I reinstalled four of the body mounts just to make sure the body didn't shift as I've continued to work on the car.)

I'd just like to lift it a few inches up in the air. Its a Vert. I'd like to leave the doors on. Will that be safe enough to support the rear body. I plan to use several jacks. Anyone done anything similar to this?

Thanks

I just completed a frame off & you always find more than you'd expect.
