I am in the market for a 1979-81. But thats not the point, i was searching aftermarket parts for such vehicles. And well, i was under fiberglass hoods when i came across a "twin turbo" hood. And i was wondering, can one turbo a C3? I had searched google and found nothing but more aftermarket hoods and decal sets, and toyota supra for 30g's. But if you could answer this, that would be great, for i love the whine of turbos. (if there had been a previous thread on this forgive me, cuase i did not find it)
You can turbo just about anything, and this car is no exception. However, there are no kits available, and i don't believe there are any turbo manifolds out their either. You'll need a good welder/fabricator to make you two manifolds, and then a good tuner to part together a turbo kit. I have no idea what it would cost. You'd be better of SC'ing in my opinion, and could go with one of those under the hood kits. Its crammed with the vette and needs to be modified, but i've seen it work before.
F.A.S.T. out of the chicago area builds them. By the time it's all said and done your looking at @ $15,000 USD if you already have a very stong motor and tranny to build on to.
The big cost is the custom miniram type sequential fuel injection system the sensors and electronics. That's about $8000 of the cost. The rest is the custom all stainless headers, intercoolers and plumbing.
Gale Banks will be more than happy to set you up with one of their "crate" turbo motors. Banks is one of the best in the business. Here is a link: http://www.bankspower.com/twin-turbo-engine.cfm
I live in auburn hills, where they worship any handy-man work on one of the big 3's cars. But thanks for the answer. I think it would be just a litle sweeter to have a turbo.
But just for the record, how much would a supercharger cost (and how much to install?)

Look back in the engine mod section and this guy installed a $3500 whipple charger and another $3500 in the FI and you can also have a 700-800 hp motor.
Find an older Martin set-up for a Corvette. This was a draw-though system using the stock carb that fit the Vettes with stock hoods. One of our club members has one on his '78. He reports about a 50% power gain. I would think that with a modern impeller design, even high boost levels could be attained.
You can also do a setup similar to the STS system (http://www.ststurbo.com/). This was something I was considering before deciding to go back to school. It wouldn't be that hard to do with minimal farication expense.
Here's what the turbo looked like mounted to my car.
