Default Adjusting ride hight

I have heard that you can raise the rear ride hight without replacing the springs. Is this so?I just want to raise my 82CE just a little, maybe 1/2-3/4 inch.Don't want air shocks or the dreadful redneck rake.

Tighten your spring bolts up in the rear and the car will raise up.

Is there a certain sequence you have to use so you get it even on each side?I suppose you have to have the car on a lift?

i just adjusted mine. mine had a lean and all the fender wells were different height. after looking at the rear spring bolts i noticed there were more washers on one side than the other. after playing around with the number of washers my car adjusted out just the way i wanted it. when adjusting the back spring it also affects the front height left rear affects front right and right rear affects front left

You can do it on the ground too. Just back the nuts off a little bit, count how many threads you have left on each and try to get them even. After you back them off, push the car back 10 feet and forward 10 feet to let it settle a bit. If it where you want it leave it alone. If you need to make adjustments, tight one side or back one side off a little bit more.

You don't have to have a lift but you DO have to take the weight of the car off of the spring before adjusting the ride height.
Since it is very easy for a jack to slip when jacking the spring put a piece of wood between the jack and the spring. Clamp the wood with a C-clamp to hold it in place. Jack the car just enough on the side that you are working on to take tension off of the bolt and PLACE A JACKSTAND UNDER THE CAR before getting under it to make adjustments.
It's an easy adjustment to do and you will be happy with the results of having the car level from side to side.
