Wiper door stays open

The wiper door on my '70 has recently decided to stay open. Any ideas on what has done this? Also found an unattached vacume line coming from what I think is the manual override switch under steering wheel.

Reattach the vacuum line to the override switch and see if that cures your problem.
With that line detached, it may be preventing the system from working as it was designed to.

Sounds like the vacuum hose came off of the wiper door selenoid which is located under the tach. I have kicked the hose off of the selenoid durring sporty breaking in autocross. The door stays open with that hose loose.
