Default pulled gas tank, anyone else have this problem?

Hey all, I just pulled the tank on my 75, (dont know if its the first time its been pulled or not?) anyway I had this stumbling problem during hard acceleration, but noticed it wasent so bad with a full tank. So I figured that eighter the fuel pump was going south.,or the bladder had fallen.Anyhoo after getting the tank down I noticed the fuel lines were under the straps and getting pinched and cutting off flow?I already figured the screen was going to be dirty,(an it was.after 30 Yrs U know)the bladder was fine ,no gas behind it so think Ill leave it in there.what oppinons from thoses that have had thier tank down?, pull the bladder or not? also any one else had there fuel lines under the straps?
Tks N save the wave.

Yeah, the fuel lines on top can be a bit of a pain. Keeping them out of the way while wiggling the tank up and in is kind of like herding snakes. Over the years they degrade too making them softer and even more prone to collapse.

I had to remove my bladder when I went with a sump for EFI and learned a lesson. The sender screws into the bladder. You'll need to come up with something sturdy to put in the tank to screw into to get a good seal. If your bladder is in good shape keep it in there.

I just dropped mine on my 76.

I tore out the bladder, and cut the metal plate out and reused it. I used the bladder to make a gasket and used the rest of it for anti-squeak.

I spent $120 and bought the POR-15 gas tank sealer kit.

www.POR-15.com

Seems to work fine for me.

I don't see where the problem with the straps during installation is.. there is a metal cover over the tank, the gas lines go thru the sides of it. There is the rear frame / cross member by the bumper, straps wrap on that. Then tank gets lifted up, and crossmember put under and straps hook to that.

Your sender is on top right?

Here's a tip, wait until the tank is in, then crawl under, put your head by the diff, lean the tank down and hook up the hoses.

Tks guys The fuel lines were under the tank straps that hold the tank in place. thats why I asked if the factory did this or was it one of bubbas goofs?, So far my bladder is fine so Ill leave it in place.
anoughter Question?, the vent hose on the driver side goes to the vapor canistor... on the passenger side the 3/8in hose is fuel line to engine,
But what is the 1/4 in hose on the passenger side for? is this a reurn line?. I have stock fuel pump. but will go to an aftermarket fuel pump when the engine swap gets done.
thanks again
