Headers for 71 BB?

Default Headers for 71 BB?

Do they make shorty headers that will install easily on my 71 454 4 speed without modifications?

Heres what i want to do. My car has the original style sidepipe covers on there now and the exhaust system is made up of original manifolds that feed into custom pipe(maybe 2 or less") that has glasspack mufflers.

I want to take everything off (save the manifolds of course) and install headers that feed into larger tubing that has eventually goes into a 3 1/2 tube with a spirl baffel? trying to keep this on the cheap, any Ideas out there?

Default Cr*p selection of headers..

There is a crap selection of headers for our car. I have a 71 LS-5 I have been fighting or toying with the header issue for some time. Might try the sanderson cast header/manifold. They look pretty good and are short. Maybe Stan can help but I doubt it. Search for stan's headers. A good option, would be to get the manifolds ported, try gesslerheadporting.com. I am going to go that route, one of these days. I think I'll give gessler the stock intake, I have a 69 Alum one, the ex manifolds and the heads and tell him to fully port etc....$, but it will look stock and go fast.

That's interesting..... Sanderson is only one block from me and was going to do the work to mount the 3 1/2 baffles for me. Too funny. He said go out and get some headers and bring it back and he will hook them up. Maybe because I said I wanted to do it on the cheap side.

I will talk to him again..

I am going to Sandersons tomorrow 6/01/05... I will either buy their headers and put them on myself or "if the price is right" it will have them do it. I am still no sure if i want the side pipes to be glasspaks or baffles yet? I do have 69 side pipe covers on now with old glass packs under.

any suggestions?

If they won't cut you the deal that you want, I have a set of ceramic coated Sanderson block huggers that I will make you a good deal on.

I have a set of 2" Hedman Headers on my '71 BB Coupe. They fit fine and don't leak. I had them thermal coated, and it helped cool the underhood temps.
