80 A/c ?
On the 80 A/C system..which is the "low" side...the fitting by the compressor or the one back by the big aluminum thing (condensor?) close to the fire wall and heater core box?

Please confirm that I have this right. To add refrigerent, I'll add at the line fitting tap that is coming from the evaporator (low side) to the compressor? The line into the evaporator, leaving the compressor is the high side?

The large line is the low-pressure side. The fitting on the low-pressure line is larger than the fitting on the high-pressure side.

Just in case.... since you said you don't know much about AC are you sure you have the right TYPE of refridgerant? The 80 does not use the 134A that you may very well have bought at AutoZone without converting the system....
