Default First Real Problem with new vette

I have a eldelbrock carb and 350/350. Ran fine came home as I pulled into driveway and let off gas it died. Now very hard to move the vette without reving high and let clutch out slow or dies instantly. If I slowly bring rpms up to about a 1500 I can then rev. engine but if idiling and try to bring rpms up fast it coughs. Any ideas

Check the hose coming into the base of the carb for any cracks at the bends. Possibly a split/cracked vacuum hose.

Does it sit and idle ok? A vacuum leak is most troublesome at idle. You say you can't pop the throttle open quickly. This is an accelerator pump problem. May want to call the Edelbrock help line.

Sounds almost identical to the symptoms I experienced on my initial drive home. I wrote a depiction at my site too. Looking back it seems almost funny now.

I took it to my mechanic and he said the carb need to be rebuilt. He said that would be $3-400!!

I ended up buying a new Edelbrock for about $200. Problem solved. Since that day, I've been doing everything myself.
