I really do not like the idea of pressurized oil in my passenger compartment at all. I dove into the dash today to take care of a few problems and found that the connection had a tiny leak. I took care of that, but it still had made a decent mess under there. Does anyone know of an electrical guage/sending unit setup that looks good in there? It doesn't have to be a perfect match as long as it doesn't look too out of place.
Thanks. It looks like the electrics started in 74. Can anybody confirm whether or not those use the printed circuit board or just electrical connections? Anybody know if they would fit without modifications?
All you have to do is buy autometer gauges and the sending unit. I never did think that my 79 gauges were very accurate. Some of the people here on the forum have beautiful custom and purchased consul gauge clusters.
74-76 should work fine, and look close. All you need is a wire from the sending unit, an ignition switched, and a ground. You really need a 74-76 gauge back shell to go with it.
