Ties for the whole dual assembly? Are there mounts at each corner for a total of 8? I don't have a problem using those for 2 reasons:
1. I've never had a radiator fail because of one.
2. if it DOES fail, I'll get an aluminum radiator for the car. This copper/brass one is only 1 year old so I can't justify replacing it just to switch to aluminum
I bought a copper\brass from Dewitt and he mounted the SPAL's
I bet if you got his fans, he'd send the upper and lower mounting brackets with simple instructions.
Good Luck,
Mike
I'm just mounting up a single 16 inch SPAL pusher. I will just mount up the bars to the fan housing per the instructions and weld the other ends to the rad support where they end up. Being sure to space the fan away from the rad to alow for flex and vibration and use some rubber standoffs and.... and.... and....
Recently installed the dual SPAL setup on my '70. Its the stock radiator. With the supplied mounting brackets, the fan setup screwed directly to the radiator. On both the top and botton, there is a lip that it can be screwed to directly, there is no harm in putting a hole in that portion of it.
