Spark Delay Control Valve
While replacing the vacuum hoses on my 1980 L-48 (Federal) 4-Spd, I've run into a question. Both the Doc Rebuild guide, and the emissions sticker show a SPARK DELAY CHECK VALVE in the vacuum line between the vacuum advance and Early Fuel Evaporation TVS on the air cleaner. Checking the 1980 Shop Manual, it doesn't show a check valve. What does this check valve do? Should a manual tranny car have this valve and the EFE TVS in the air cleaner?
I'm getting better at this emissions thing, but still learning.
