need hydro boost info,please
I was reading the info on hydro boost brakes and considering putting the system on my 73. I would like to get as much info as possible on the instalation of this system on my vette. i think it was Norvil who had the system on his vette. I am in San Diego so I'd need a yard where i could pick one up. but it sounds like a good solution for having darn good brakes and seems like a simple enough install.
If anyone has any info on the install of this system, I would appreciate thier input and advise.
thanks in advance

My car didn't have power brakes and adding a vacuume system is a lot of work and not cheap. The kit was less than $600 if I remember right. And it just bolts right in.

there is a lot of info on his site.
I am VERY pleased with the kit.

I did the same. Nice install and they work great. Nice compact system. I also had manual brakes, this was a huge difference in braking.I went to the wrecking yards years ago and bought my first unit from a 85 van for $20.
I then tried a more powerful unit from a 94 one ton truck and paid $50 for a unit complete with everything I wanted. The unit was in perfect shape, no rust, no leaks and still nicely painted.
I made up a few lines and bolted it in.
I did NOT need any adaptor plate, I did turn the unit around on the plate by a simple fileing a new groove and the lines were not hard to make.
I do recommend removing the studs provided with the donor unit and pressing them into your firewall from the inside out. Acts like 4 wheel studs making life alot easier later on.
While some don't like the thoughts of using a part from the wrecker it is a great source of good used parts at real bargain.
The going price here is $50CDN for a unit.
I also live in San Diego, and finding a wrecking yard booster was no problem, as several yards I checked had them. Here in san D, they think they are filled with liquid gold, though, so expect to pay around $100 for one that is in ok shape, probably needing paint to look good. The lines I had fabbed at Industrial Liquidators on Convoy, they were kinda expensive at ~$150 (Earls parts) but I wasnt sure on the sizes and didnt want to attempt to order parts and make my own lines. After coming together, the whole system worked pretty well, and probably ran me about $300 for all the parts, plus riding around and such. Here is a pic of it:

Now on my other vette, after spending so much time on the previous one, I decided to just go for the Hydratech kit. It came with everything I needed, cost a littole less than $600, and was all brand new parts and such. It was, to me, well worth the extra money to buy the Hydratech kit as it saved me lots of time, riding around, brushing painting, fabbing, drilling, and etc. I dont have a pic of it, but it's just like above, only with a slick billet adapter plate, as opposed to the drilled out pressed metal plate on my 'fabbed' one.
PM me if you need any help and such, since I live in SAn D, we might be able to meet up sometime!
