High Beams Staying On

High Beams Staying On
Anyone experience this? When I toggle the high beam switch the lights dim; however, all stay on. This is the first time out this year - all else seems fine.

After thinking on this for a while I would say replace the dimmer switch. I believe this switch has two circuits in it. One switches the low beam lights to high beam and the other turns on the high beams. It sounds to me like the high beam circuit is stuck in the on position.

Yeah man...it's the dimmer switch. I'm almost 90% sure. This happened to me about 2 years ago. It got stuck on the way home on a two lane highway. Then they cut off completely 
I finally got 'em on again after playing with it in the dark on the side of the road. It stayed on bright. There were a lot of people flashing their lights at me that night.

Dimmer switch would be the prime suspect.

Thanks for the help guys - the dimmer switch was the culprit - a little under $5.00 at Advance Auto - I mentioned to the young man (younger than me anyway) at the counter about it being foot operated - he showed me a photo of it on the computer and said that is all we have (of course it was what I needed) - a foot operated dimmer switch?? I didn't say anything - just moved on.
