Need driveshaft u-joint torque specs
I installed the driveshaft back into my 78 today after some differential work, and was surprised that the 78 Chevy shop manual listed driveshaft u-joint to yoke torque at 75 ft lbs! Seems like a lot for those little 7/16 headed bolts to handle. My Assembly Instruction Manual and Chilton reference don't list this spec. Is 75 ft lbs correct?

You're right, that would snap those babies right off!!
My 1970 Service Manual lists the Axle Drive Shaft to Spindle torque at 75 ft. lb. Maybe they got that one listed in the wrong spot.
The U-joint torques are listed as 14 ft.lb., with the transmission yoke U-joint at 15 ft.lb.
